FIRST MUSKIE OF THE SEASON

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

FIRST MUSKIE OF THE SEASON

Post by big-o »

Topwater and I hit the Rideau River Sunday for a few hours ....not really looking for any particular fish....just fish. We worked shore lines and shore Structure for Bass, we worked deep for Small mouths, did a little flipping but only produced a few rock Bass a dink Large Mouth and a dink Smallie :? , but it was a great day on the water, so it was all good :D After working the Hurst Bridge we decided to troll for Muskie, Topwater Has no Rod holders in his boat yet ....so I sat at the back of the boat and just held on to the Rod.....not a easy thing to do for any length of time, at 4.5 MPH(GPS) dragging a 8 once Spinner bait  But it did pay off about 10 minutes into the troll I felt a Sharp jerk on the rod...Fish -On, My first Muskie in two years, not much of a fight :? A couple on minutes the fish was in the net, few pics and a measurement and back she went :D :D

Nice one Big-O,
I have to get out and give that a try some day. Can I troll with a small walleye as bait?   (Just kidding!)

I was looking forward to seeing your muskie pic, Big-O, but only got the blasted red X. :( I'll definitely check back again later today.
