Whats Your Oldest Reel?????

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Thanks for the info on the Peerless . Didn't know it was that old.

I have memories of my dad dragging spoons around a few lakes with that thing but can't remember ever seeing a fish caught most likely because of me .
He and my Uncle did have success trolling for lakers just not with a young kid tagging along

It now spends its time sitting next to the fireplace , ready to go :)

Few old lures of his as well , some hand made .

Looks like some custom paint work! May be very collectable!

Here is an old Abu444, it is the Swedish Cardinal before it became the Cardinal!

Hmmmm...

Tinbanger- you've got some neat old lures there- does the one 2nd from the bottom, right side have anything written on the lip? Looks familiar, but can't place it. :? Top left lure may have some value, too. Looks like you have a couple of Bass-Orenos, a Creek Chub, and a River Runt SPook with a blade at the rear?

NN- you've got a Buck Perry Spoonplug, early 60's- a couple of River Runts and the top right lure could be one of a number of lures. Are the River Runts wood?

I have a good friend who is the #1 Collector and authority on antique lures in Canada. If anyone wants, they can PM me and I'll give his email address. With photos, he can ID lures and will probably give values on anything worth evaluating. Tell him I referred you and he won't charge for his time. I think.

Like most antiques CONDITION determines value. Of course there is nothing more valuable than sentimental value.

I haven't seen that particular Lucky Strike bait before. You could probably get info on it directly from Kim Rhodes (sp?) from the company in Peterborough. It's amazing the company is still family-owned after all these years.

:D :D :D :D

This is one of my oldest reels, dates back to the late seventy's, bought it new, bought a spare spool for it and used it alot, mostly trolling as I recall, ......till I got sidetracked for awhile, .....still use it, but relagated to ice fishing, ....and we all know how much I love that....... Looking for my old DAM "quick" reel, same vintage, ... used that mainly for casting, ...know it's around here somewhere :?

damn i wish i had my camera right now!

i have my old Dam Quick 330 sitting right here. one of the best reels ever made. it is in almost mint condition too. it was on my mother's rod which heardly ever got used. i snagged it about 5 years ago and she still hasn't noticed. HAHA

it's just somethin' that's as old as it is that was made in Germany that holds a little somethin' close to my heart.
