Fishing the nation river

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hey jocco is there anywhere close to casselman that i can launch a boat to fish north side of dam in casselman. I was fishing between casselman and Chrysler on sunday but we didn't get lucky. But next time i'll try at the Y i saw acouple of boats on Sunday but didn't want to bother them cause i met one guy at the boat launch that ,when I asked him where I should try for walleye he almost bit my head off. saying something like if you don't know where to fish go fish somewhere else. possibly because i slowed him down a bit at the launch because I don't have a boat trailer just my boat upside down on regular trailer. then have to put my motor on it. and he was fishing at the Y.

It's interesting that fish of that size come out of there... I live like 10 mins from there and i've never had the boat in or wet a line.

I have seen a few shacks located under the 417 bridge but i'm guessing the castor joins the nation further up... I'll have to take a closer look sometime when i want to kill a couple of hours.. I can't say i've ever really seen many people on there.

casselman,,,,,,,,,,,,

its a small river but realy nice,,,,,,,

WHATCH OUT ,,,,,if you lunch at the casselman lunch,
waltch when you go under the bridge just beside the lunch ,there is
a realy big rock((i did hit it whit my boat cost me a prop),,,right under the bridge,,,,,and on the other side for 200 feet what not deep on one side

Hey Wallyboss,

I'll be sure to say hi next time I see you on the river. Saw you Sunday when you were loading your stuff back in your truck and trailer. I was the patient one asking how you guys had done.

Anyhow glad you posted this thread as I was going to do the same.

I have a feeling I may be out there tomorrow to see what I can get into.

Joco,

To be honest I just moved to Embrun 2 months ago and only realized 3 weeks ago that there's a launch in Casselman. I brought the boat down there last week to show someone how my boat runs as it's for sale.

I'm interested in going up there tomorrow after 9:00am (unfortunately have to drive the wife in town first.)

If you'd like to join me let me know.
