Shore fishing

Good evening guys! Well I finally landed my first Gar!! YES!!! I have been trying and trying gone through so much line and tackle. My wife would probably lose her mind after she found out how much I've spent on minnows alone. I've found a way to get them and not one gets away now with a safe and strong release as well. Also got me a dappled catfish never seen one like that. Thanks everyone for your advice it paid off.

Cool! I have tried sight fishing gar this year and so far I have had 16 hits and not one hookset. All were from shore and unfortunately I rarely had good position.

I think I may switch to night bait fishing which serms ti be a good way to start but there goes more coin...
