2016 Fishing Goals??
Re: 2016 Fishing Goals??
My son was 13 last summer and for the first time I got him out in the boat fishing with me in a more serious way. Been trying to get him interested for years. So, the primary plan for 2016 is to further develop his interest in fishing. If I can get him to the point where he is asking me to go instead of the other way around, that will be awesome.
Apart from that, I think I will try to focus on fishing different bodies of water throughout eastern Ontario. Seems to me I have been fishing a lot of the same the past few summers. Time to switch it up and hit some new to me lakes.

Re: 2016 Fishing Goals??
2016 Fishing Goal is to fish new waters, and to fish 'smarter' on my home waters. I also hope to get a musky on the fly.

Gar! More Walleye success.
Oh and making the Bassmaster Classic...
Should be easy, right?

I'd like to add that this season I would love to go off the beaten path and nail some specks and splake (2 fish I have NEVER caught).
Re: 2016 Fishing Goals??
The almost spring thaw last week had me thinking of the things I want to do this upcoming fishing season, the list seemed huge so I thought id keep it simple lol
1. Catch a Muskie, of any size! I've tried in mallorytown an the Rideau in kemptville the last two years to land a Muskie, had an encounter at the side of the boat while bringing in a worm harness while walleye fishing, but no luck while actually targeting them.
2. Fish my first true bass tournament with my brother, whether that's MS bassin or one of the shootout series, something to get in and have fun, learn and meet some new people!
3. And lastly, this might seem silly, but id like to learn how to properly fish a jig for bass or trout, I learned to fish from my grandpa and dad and neither of them jigged much, so I'm trying to read online and do my homework and hopefully add another skill set!
Great post, hope to meet some of you out and about this summer!

1. I'd like to find some off the beaten path trout waters. For a once or twice a year treck.
2. Find a fishing partner, something that is way overdo since i moved to eastern ontario. ( hopefully someone who knows how to access a few hidden gems)
3. Put some more time on the fly rod i picked up last year.
4. Get a boat so i can bring the family fishing comfortably

Re: 2016 Fishing Goals??
My goals for this year are. Learn how to fish a dang crankbait I own enough of them but don't have any clue what to do with them. Actually catch some bass on a jig not just a lucky one. Finally get off my butt and fish a tournament other than the Pro-Am although I always have a blast doing the Pro-Am. Not have the lower unit on my outboard crap the bed at the end of my 2 week vacation (at least it didn't crap the bed at the start i guess). Catch a 6 pounder.

Figure out how to catch summer lake trout on my small cottage lake. They're elusive buggers...
Catching spring walleye from shore in Ottawa would be another minor goal.
