Heading to Muskrat tomorrow. Never been. I'll be throwing mostly for Pike and some bass.
Any tips on lure selection or maybe even a spot or two?

We caught 4 nice pikes a couple weeks ago just outside the second bay after leaving the launch . Stay on your left hand side. in about 20 to 30 feet of water. We were using bottom bouncers with a worm harness.

Can't comment on the fishing but I read an article last week about the algal bloom on the lake http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-new ... ae-scourge . Sad to hear, it's a beautiful lake. I was in Algonquin Park for Canada day weekend and they recommended not keeping any fish from the lake with the bloom (Dickson Lake). If you're looking for dinner might want to try somewhere else

Doing some homework on that lake right now. Seems drop shotting's the way to go for bass.
