Ontario Outdoor Card Renewal
Ontario Outdoor Card Renewal
Just noticed that my card expired December 2014.
Isn't the Ministry suppose to send you a notice for renewal?
Now I have to renew it to be able to purchase my license.

Outdoor card center no longer sends notices you can renew your outdoor card at any MNR licence issuer
Re: Ontario Outdoor Card Renewal
Ah ok.
Where would the nearest MNR license issuer be in or around Ottawa?

yup they are still plastic
Re: Ontario Outdoor Card Renewal
Welcome to more "COST-SAVING" measures from the MNRF. Just don't look for more VALUE for your INCREASED rates for everything. You should also not expect that the Special Purpose Account, which was supposed to SUPPLEMENT government spending on fish and game related activities, will in fact be augmented by much of anything. The Ontario LIEberals under McWynnety are not going to make it easy for anglers, hunters, and trappers to pursue our heritage activities.

Doug,
Completely agree about the Special Purpose Account, it was meant to supplement MNR funding for fishing and hunting, not replace it. However, it was the Harris government that started slashing MNR funding in the 90s. It hasn't gotten much better since then, but its a pretty far stretch to blame it on the current gov.

Agreed. The MNR/MNRF budget has been getting the knife since the early 90s, including times when Harris was premier. My point in my rant is that things will absolutely not be getting any better under the current and continuing government, who have shown themselves deliriously happy to throw money at cancelled gas plants, failed health initiatives, outrageous green energy subsidies, and such. They did throw us a crumb with a pilot spring bear hunt last year, but it is not apparent to me that fishing, hunting and trapping are otherwise on this government's radar. Put another way, this appears to me to be a GTA-centric government and the rest of us are noise.Supernova224 wrote:Doug,

Absolutely fair Doug, it's high time we have a government that truly values these activities, and not just by paying it lip service at election time.
