pike walleye opener report

Post by baz fish »

Nice to se the site running again.

My pike and walleye opener was from the St Lawrence river as usual and I had a great opener. It all start on Saturday afternoon for some pike action and I managed to get 1 snot rocket on my 1rst cast on a white Strikeking spinnerbait then caught another pike on the William spoon 5 diamonds. Then Saturday night went for some walleye and I managed to caught the only walleye of the day at 7.6 lbs my 2nd biggest walleye I ever caught that walleye was caught on a perch husky jerk.

Sunday went at the same place for some pike and managed to caught 2 pikes once again with the biggest at 3 lbs and another snotrocket caught on a William gold wabler spoon and the other on a white and green strikeking spinnerbait and Sunday went for the walleye and caught the another walleye at 4.2 lbs caught on a silver blue husky jerk.

Congrads on the walleye. I also fished the St. lawrence, Lots of follows but no bites from pike. I ended up fishing some Carp and Bowfin

An old favorite... that and the half & half. Always tipped the treble with a white, chartreuse or orange 3-inch grub. With that it'd take the odd walleye too, but was great for pike,

Solid opener Baz. Spent an afternoon out myself and couldn't even come close to those sizes of walleye. Great fishing.
