4TH Annual Mr.J. Toothy Critter Derby

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Glad your being so honest so early Kpin....

Jamsers... you misread/misquoted Kpin's initial comment. Is prefailing essentially failing before this thing has even started? That *is* early honesty!

I have been wanting to fish this event the last two years but other commitments have kept me away  , however this year that day is open....I'm in :D I am really looking forward to meeting fellow fish-hawkers . I will have an open seat for another fish-hawker. I am perferably looking for someone with Musky fishing experience as I am just getting into musky fishing (been fishing other species all my life), and would love to team up and learn from one of the "Musky guys" here on the board.

I have a 14' (20hp) custom built tinny, with all the bells and whistles and comfortable seats.

If you have a musky rod I can borrow that would also be a bonus, I have several musky sized lures....but I'm going to have to save up over the winter for the rod and reel (damn things are not cheap) I think once I catch a large musky it will make paying the big $ for a musky rod easier

Anyway before I write a book (bored at work) if anyone is interested in teaming up shoot me a PM

Cheers,

Marc.

*UPDATE*

Some of the Fish-Hawk partenrs have offered up some prizes and there is some on-going discussion with others

Without the Fish-Hawk partners there is no Fish-Hawk or events like this so when you go out and buy a new lure for this event please support the local Mom and Pop shops

Without them there is no us

Once everything is firmed up I'll list them as our event sponsors

Mr. J,

Last year we (Draven and I) launched from Taylor Park, is this possible again this year? or should we meet you in Kars first? Living in Osgoode makes it a more convenient launch at Taylor. No problem meeting you at the RA, just let us know, the important thing is we will be there to defend the Pike side...now if we could only boat a Musky...

Hey Mister J....fishtraks and chewie will be participating again this year in my boat. Also... the same question as someone asked earlier. Do we HAVE to launch at KARS?? or can we launch elsewhere. Us guys with the 14' boats and low HP can save a lot of time if we launch closer to where we want to fish instead of trundling down half the river eating up fishing time. So what are the "rules" regarding this?? Let us know thanks J...looking forward to it....Fishtraks.
