HATCH EXCITED ABOUT CAN-AM OPPORTUNITY
Eastern Ontario angler named to Team Canada
PERTH, ON – Professional Walleye Trail (PWT) announced today that Perth, Ontario pro walleye angler Sheldon Hatch was named to the 2008 Canadian Team for the inaugural CAN-AM Super Pro tournament
Hatch, has been fishing walleye since childhood, winning his first tournament when he was a teenager. And, as luck would have it, he developed his fishing skills growing up on the Bay of Quinte one of North America’s top walleye producers.
“Being selected to fish for team Canada is a great opportunity. I feel this will help promote walleye fishing right across the country and also make people aware of the great anglers we have in Canadaâ€, said Hatch.
When Hatch is not on water fishing professional walleye tournaments or guiding, he enjoys educating, writing, promoting and presenting seminars on walleye angling for one of Ontario’s most popular species.
The In-Fisherman Professional Walleye Trail first-ever CAN-AM Super Pro tournament combines the best of two walleye worlds. The top-ranked Canadian and US walleye anglers compete head-to-head in Dryden, Ontario, in August.
Hatch’s sponsors include Tracker Boats, Mercury Outboards, Fin-tech, George’s Marine & Sports, Lowrance, G-Loomis, Shimano Reels, P-Line, ezelo and West Lake Willows Resort. He is an active member of the National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) and Ontario Sportfishing Guide Association (OSGA).
