Ottawa valley snow report ?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Post by tinbanger »

I imagine there isn't any but thought I would check

Will be in Ottawa area next week on buisness and plan to drive into our hunt camp road on the way there for a load of stone ( for future fireplace).

Very little snow and most will be all gone in the next couple of days I'd assume. Going up to 10 degrees on Friday.

Went out to Mississippi Lake yesterday to check out the ice. First spot we turned back with what only seemed to be 3 inches of ice and lots of cracking action as we stepped. Next spot seemed to have a little more...about 4 inches. We tied up to each other, went out to about 5 feet and drilled some holes. Fished for about 1 hours but no strikes.

I still wouldn't recommend going out there though. 4 inches may seem enough, but it's still a little thin.
