On the water with Moosebunk and Floatfishin

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

On the water with Moosebunk and Floatfishin

Post by Markus »

Bunk and FF landed at my place shortly after 8pm last night. Shared a few pops and chatted for a few hours before turning in. Great to finally meet Moosebunk!

We got up at a decent time, checked the weather and wind...decided to hit Nanticoke on Lake Erie for Smallies. Joe and Crash plan to join us and arrived shortly after in Joes Yamaha boat and started flipping tubes too.

The morning bite was slow for us, but Float got things kicked off for us with a nice smallie. His hook set was followed by one of Floats classic "Holy ****!!"

Image

We worked cranks, spinners and lots of plastic. It took some time, but we got onto them with black gulp leeches. They lit things up for us for a bit. Float just couldn't stay away from the chrome! Although the chrome he found today was a bit different. Sheepies!! And lots of them, he was truly the sheepie king today. He also boated a couple little silvers.

After boating a ton of small largies, a few decent smallies, loads of sheepies, a rockbass and a blue gill, we decided to stop for lunch. We all headed back to shore and enjoyed a great lunch at the marina resturant. Joe and Crash decided to call it a day and we chose to try the afternoon bite. And we're glad we did!

We set up in an entirey differnt location than in the morning. The waves were down, so we had more options with the water we could cover. It didn't take long for us to figure out the big smallie bite!

A nice treat was both Bunk and I finding a walleye on the end of our lines. Bunks came on a canadian wiggler and mine on a gulp minnow. Only little guys, but a nice surprise.

We absolutely put a pounding on the big smallies. One nice fish after another. The afternoon bite was definately better than the morning.

It was an absolute pleasure to finally get to meet Moosebunk. Our 3 man crew had a great day together on the water. Float had us in stiches all afternoon and the fishing was fantastic!

Good job at your McLauren Outflow. :P

Man, those fish are chubby, but not so chubby as the anglers who caught them.
Nice job fellas. You boys heading out into the big lake tomorrow?

Wish I could be there, but the last time I tried a road trip like that ... :(

Derby points galore.

Awesome Smallies!!!
There are few problems in life which can not be solved with a well-placed, high-explosive projectile.

:D Nice fish guys..if they are meeting up with Hoss it could be for trout or muskies. Moosebunk wanted some muskies so Scugog might be a spot to hit.

Actually...they're taking me. Floating

No hip waders for me so they'll have to piggyback me across the creek. :D
