I love this place

Fish-hawk has given me the best chance I have ever had to meet some great people I never would have met otherwise

So kpin and I headed out Saturday morning to seek out some toothy critters, we hit one of my favorite spot and started casting, 15 or so minutes later on a cast I see a big splash in front of me....my power handle flew off of my reel (anyone know where I can get a new power handle for an Abu Garcia 6600?).

We had no choice but to head back home because Mr.J. only brought 1 rod with him. We ran into Normware and he offerd me a reel I could use and then we decided to all fish together in Norm's boat.

So we loaded up and off we went.



The fishing turned out to be slow, I had a big musky short strike me and that was the only fish we had seen for a while, when we were winding down and getting ready to head home Norm finaly lands the fish of the day, beauty smallie



Norm and I have fished together about 3 times but we fianly got to fish in the same boat.

had a great time with you and Kpin. Lots alaughs. Too bad about the missed musky.

We tried everything. Top water, plastics, spinnerbaits buzzbaits, I even threw cranks.

But it was a nice day. No boat traffic to speak of and good company

I'm a toothy critter hunter, never been big on bass.

It was a great time out. Mr.J and myself were pretty bummed out having to call the fishing expediton short, then along comes "Stormin' Norman", Normware. to save the day.

Lot's of laughs, not too much boat traffic and a beauty day. As mentioned fishing proved to be tough, even though we were 3 guys all trying different techniques and lures.

It occured to me at one point that both Norm and J were back to back victims of my now deceased alarm clock and wondered if I'd be tossed overboard as retribution but I stayed dry and received a good ribbing instead. At least the new alarm clock seems to working!

To tell small mouth and large mouth bass apart, look at the closed mouth. If it extends back beyond the back of the eye, the fish is a largemouth. If it goes only to the middle of the eye, it's a smallmouth.

Small Mouth Bass. Vertical dark markings. Bronze in colouration.


Large Mouth Bass Horizontal Dark Stripe. Usually Green in colouration.

Bowzog is a marine biologist in his spare time.

Whatever it is, it is still a nice bass.
