Deep Jigging for Muskie

Post by Todd B. »

Seems an old neighbour of mine back in Windsor has made quite a name for himself in the muskie circles deep jigging for muskie. Here is a link to the outdoorlife article. http://www.outdoorlife.com/outdoor/fish ... 16,00.html

Seems like it might be good on the St. Lawrence.

That doesn't surprise me actually, we do a very similar thing with sucker minnows, perhaps not as much of an eratic jig of 2 to 3 feet, but we've fished deep water up to about 25 to 30 feet, and found that many of the lunge had followed the baits back to the boat. Perhaps a more visible jig would entice more strikes down deep instead of just following without hitting. Something to give a try for sure.
