tree stand

Post by Super »

I have never hunted bear before.
So the best way to hunt bear is to build a tree stand.
Put the bait on the stand
Wait a few days so the bear thinks it is all his.
Then you just hike over at supper time and shoot him?
Seems like pretty easy hunting.
Good story!!

Guess I am too skeptical, I figured from the get-go it was that photo......

But it was masterfully played, the bait was going out with the line and OUF the hook was set............

Been a bowhunter for over 45 years and you got me. Have had people use my stands and even stole a few of them. After seeing the picture
of the bear in the stand it also reminds me of a story I had published many years ago.

This actually happened for real to me,opening day of bow about 20yrs ago. Walked into my stand in the dark and had a scare when I seen something up in my stand that I thought was a bear. Turned out to be a young guy sitting there, told me he didnt think anyone was using the tree stand. I had just built it the month before, salt on the ground........what did he think. No vehicle around, his mother dropped him off in the morning. Told him to get down and find his own place to hunt. When I came out later that morning he was sitting on the side of the road, said his mother was picking him up after she got off work.

OK.........ya got me.

The only thing that was out of place for me was that I just didn't picture you as a person that hunts out of built stands, or leaves a portable up for an extended period of time.
