The snow we had 2 winters ago really made a huge dent. So last years hunt was really poor all around. But I am hearing good reports, at least for now. I hunt about 1 hr from ottawa up the 148 on the quebec side. Fish there a lot too.

Quebec fishing show suck big-time.
Show 30 seconds of catching tiny fish and 21 minutes 30 seconds of blabing nonsense around a table.
Their hunting shows are worse.

I'd rather watch paint dry.

Yeah, kinda early for a run. Need a good rain in mid Sept. Then you've got the best chance. I usually have to decide between salmon or duck season which is usually 2nd last week in Sept.

Tell me about it.
I've been fishing vicariously through all the reports... :(

2 kids under 2 year old has keep me off the water most of the summer.

It's like that springtime urge you get before the opener... but it's all freakin' season long now......

Mercury clear vinyl oil injection lines

I replaced my leaking oil pump. ('94 60 HP 3 cyl). Should have gotten the oil lines at the same time as the pump, but of course hindsight is 20/20. I used standard HW store vinyl chemical resistant tubing in a pinch since I didn't want to reuse the old ones. (I need to go FISHING!!!!!!) They look th...

Craig, your'e one cantankerous man.
My kind of guy.

Me, I have resolved myself to the fact that I don't exist and I don't matter. The numbness is kind of comforting.

But I'll kick in a protest vote for Ottawa.

I've seen that before. Minnow mashed up and pushed way up the leader. Ditto on the trebble comment above. This is the most reliable way I know how to rig. It's slow though. I use faster ones when the action is hot. -Tie a mono leader to a trebble hook. - use a minnow needle do a colonoscopy and stra...

I actually sort of like that we don't exist to the rest of the fishing world.
Kinda like having your own private lake....

It's the one thing that lets me completely detach from what is going on elsewhere in life. I fished the same 5 lakes for 30 years and just recently started to branch out. I know those lakes like the back of my hand, but catching fish in a place you've never been before I am discovering is a unique e...

I just recently joined but have been lurking a while. I fish small lakes up north for 30 years but finally got myself a big boat to use on the water near my home. I had no idea where to go and serached around... not really finding anything. But I can see that no one really want to give any info like...

G'day lads, If I might point you to the SQ (Sûreté du Québec or QPP) website on drinking and boating. God love this province... almost makes it worth the extra taxes we pay. http://www.sq.gouv.qc.ca/foire-aux-questions/faq-MotCles.jsp?themeMotCles=2&motClesMotCles=Bateau To sum it up, as long...
