Re: Bug Attack!!!!
Eating salami loaded with garlic, and smoking cheap cigars was the approach my dad used when I was a kid. He though the smoke would keep them off his head - didn't work on windy days, but then the bugs weren't so bad either

Its good to try new things but don't get caught up thinking you have to use a specific rod, certain type of reel with a specific gear ratio with only one kind of...

Re: Looking for some info
Best line about used motors ever!Whenever I'm asked about a used boat, I ask the person what their plan is for when, not if, the motor blows. Every high HP boat motor has a fuse.....some are just longer than others.

Great post
If you have to do all sorts of calculations and gymnastics to launch, is it really worth risking everything?
Be smart. Stay safe.

New Gear: Daiwa Tatula 103 SV Gloomis Deep Flex CBR 896 Shimano Calcutta 100B Shimano Bob Izumi Signature 2piece float rod. Interesting story: I bought this rod around 2006/7 from LeBaron, in the thought of going floatfishing for steelies. I never made it out. It has been sitting in my basement sinc...

Re: Spinning vs casting
Each has it's purpose and its place. For throwing anything over 1/4 oz, I would be looking at a casting combo. That is the local prejudice, as is fly fishing is much better than "gear" fishing out in BC. I'll tell you one thing, you will certainly look out of place in bass tourni with spi...

Re: Light action rod and reel suggestions
On sale down from $99.99 to $49.99. Would look at the 7 footer, or 6.6... light to ultralight. http://www.cabelas.ca/product/45418/cabelas-fish-eagle-50-spinning-rods But at $80 that doesn't leave much room on the reel. This is a great deal ON THIS rod for 49$ definitely look for ultra light to lig...
