Fluorocarbon is fine on baitcasters, but can be a nightmare (as a main line) on spinning reels. Tatsu and Sunline Sniper are formulated to be "softer", but still can be problematic on fixed-spool reels...especially in heavier tests. Fluorocarbon sinks like a rock, so for applications like ...

Yes, there are Pike in Weslemkoon...but I've only caught hammer-handles, and they are definitely not the most populous species in this lake. Crappies have been biting since ice out. Look for fallen timber or docks/boathouses in south facing bays with a dark bottom. 4 to 6 ft of water. Slow, slow presentation.

Smaller spring-fed lakes north of Plevna were open 2 weeks ago. This is a cross at ice out. Trails should be good and muddy now !
