I normally don't get involved in discussions like this but I do believe panfish should be protected on many of the lakes I fish, but in other lakes panfish are overpopulated and have a stunted growth. My cottage is a lake near perth and has small populations of very large panfish. It also recieves l...

Nice carp! They are a blast to catch on the fly before the weeds get to thick. The magic fly for me this year was a size 12 san juan but I'm sure the japanese carp are much more sophisticated and trickier to catch. Congrats on the success, you definitely had more fun than I did this break catching s...

Pictures from 2008 Fishing Season

I have logged 87 days on the water this year flyfishing (and counting) but only have a few pictures to show for it: Being the genius and careful wader I am I managed to break yet another camera. It is definately something I will regret for a ...

In rivers like the bonnechere and mississippi they will hit almost anything that moves. Its a little different on a deep clear lake though. Overall I do think bass are a non-selective easy fish to catch: Thats one reason I do not enjoy fishing for them very much. One fish that gets a lot more credit...

I'd definitely be down for a trout get together. Splake would be my number one as I still have not gone fishing for them before. It will be cool trying some little nymphs under the ice and seeing what happens.

I have fished the greys streamflex 10 ft 4 wt and it is the nicest river nymphing rod I have ever fished. A few friends of mine swear by Grey's rods, havent heard anything bad about them to be honest.

Adirondacks Report

Hey all, Dragged my Dad down to NY last minute for some nice fall trout fishing with my good buddy Simon (thanks Dad!) . The plan was to wake up early, head to Malone then head to Wilmington to fish the fabled Ausable River and return home for a late dinner. In my fairly limited experience in New Yo...

Not sure if its still open but I just got back from 7 days of fishing the Tremblant area.. If you're thinking about heading to the Diable it is fishing very well if you are willing to do some wading. Mostly browns in the fast deep pockets and brookies in the slower water. Don't expect anything over ...

sweet. good to see you got into some action. the bow is a really tough river to fish for the first few times. were you on a guided trip out there? Nope, we were not with a guiding service, just my uncle and my friend John. It is a very intimidating river at first as there is so much water to cover....
