Don't waste your time in the ottawa area trying to catch Brown trout head up to the port hope area, fish some tributaries or cross over and enjoy new York state. Nothing in algonquin that I know of with brown trout in it. Fish Online can be a great resource but there are also a lot of lakes on there...

Those specks are some true Gems Mike, you don't hook into specks like that everyday, always look forward to your trout reports!

Speaking of Moose, I watched a cow and Calf last week for about 10min, got some great pictures and video, they were very relaxed just outside the treeline in a small marshy opening. Great to see in the area for sure, whether they make it threw the week is another question

Original issue was resolved with a few phone calls, everything is sorted out. Buddy of mines uncle use to own the camp, found out who current owners are, all is well.

I don't have kids yet myself but the nephews up north all start around 6yrs of age for deer,moose and bear. They get genuinely upset if there not allowed to come up to camp. I live in 64a and usually luck out with an antlerless for around the house but decided to apply where I own a bush lot in 63a this year and no luck. Looks like it will be a buck this fall.
