 Sorry Joco, looks like junk to me. Very narrow for standing with a high center of gravity thanks to that 'seat'. Flat platform just right for things to roll off. Looks awkward as heck to paddle. Should be used only in flat calm water. She'd roll in a heartbeat in any kind of waves. Good idea...

Thanks for posting that link Joco. They do have some neat stuff. Since I sold the boat/motor/trailer, last year, I made some modifications to the Sportspal. 1. A big plastic box from CTC which contains everything I use when fishin, except the rods. 2. Two fold-down wooden brackets at the front to re...

These fishing yaks look so tempting. Even if I find room in the garage for one, it would not be fair to my canoe. Actually, I have been looking for a decent portable one for kayak/canoe and didn't find one yet. Can someone please post their navigation light setup? Don't want this to happen.. http:/...

I fish Charleston ALL the time and I mean ALL the time. For 40 YEARS. I've fished Charleston 7 times for pike this season and have caught ONE bass.....a dink in Mud Bay opening weekend. I have fished it 3 times for Lakers...no bass. In the past 5 years while fishing pike on Charleston I have caught...

Maybe Browns could survive if they were stocked. Don't think they have been. Most of us locals would be happy if the pike and bass and crappie were returned to their pre 1970's health and numbers. Pike have not been doing well since most of the golden shiners were removed for bait over the last 20 o...

Crappie Bait
Suds: Plastics mostly work best. tubes. twisters, scented, non-scented. on jigs. Doesn't hurt to have a doz tiny live minnows along it you suspect there might be Crappies around but can't entice'em. Once they get feeding........Of course, Perch, Sunnies, also love minnows. You may have noticed alrea...

Fly Line Close out
 Jazuz if this ain't the slowest goddam web site ever. Get a server for god's sake!! ANYWAY: Canadian Tire in Smiths Falls appears to be going out of their fly stuff, and as of this morning there were SEVERAL boxes of wff, dtf, sinking, #'s 6 and 7 wt. Some 444. All this line at less than half...

Re: Nice rebuttal
As far as pressure goes, isn't it self correcting, by that I mean if an area gets a great deal of pressure to the point the fishing is affected, doesn't the number of people fishing it goes down. OTRA...You are correct I guess.....but why would a fisherman ever want to do that to a spot or lake tha...

Canoe fishin
:P Nah, don't do it. Hard on the arms and shoulders. Cramped up for hours at a time. Getting swamped by twits in boats. Wind blows you all over creation. You won't like it. Too crowded. You have to fish all by yourself in places others can't get to and say g'day. It's too quiet being in a little str...

Hi Wolfe: If they got rid of you, t'wouldn't be much of a Fish Hawk. Glad to see the cottage is rollin right along. It's a mandolin.........Still playing, in a couple of Celtic groups and monthly Old Time/Old Country things. Lots of fun. Music and fishing will be curtailed for a bit as my better hal...
