???

:) I can't figure the Erie tribs Mark...

It seems like 2 out of every 3 fish are shakers. In the Huron tribs the fish are all 5 - 7 pound clones.

No problem

:) I can't see why it wouldn't work. Frabil make an ice fishing tent and Sears also sell one. Spend the $20 on that hig impact jigsaw puzzle type flooring and stay warm and go for it. These tents may take a little longer to set up than a clam or such but you'll be warm and toasty for the remainder o...

The Hut

:) The project is looking good so far. I'd go with a modest slant to the roof... If you're going to be putting it in a wind corridor consider an air foil profile. The sliders are a concern too... Not that you have to worry about thin ice in your neck of the woods, but thinner rails invite more...

Boat names

:) I'll second what Mr. J say's about Bouquetmouths work. He did an excellent job on the Battleship.

Now if we could only get Mr. J to laterally reverse his sig picture so that the CH isn't the displayed the same way as it is at the Molson Centre.

U got it!

:) Well it seems we got our wish... a boat forum! :D The Battleship will get upgraded over the winter with custom, super strong dipsey rod holders. And I need a VHF system of some kind. Everything else stays status quo. I don't need a kicker when it costs $6 -$8 a day to do a 12 mile run and back pl...

Good Effort

:) I too ended up fishing a trib this weekend and it was also slow. Unlike the Lake Erie tribs, the Huron tribs are Gin clear. Even with this wicked wind. The 80 year old guy next to me had some good action. I learned a fair bit from him and I'll be sure to share the info as winter approaches and th...

Riiiiight!

:) Well just when you think you've seen it all...

And to cap it, he catches fish.

Nice going MT. Scotty, Berkeley, and the makers of Down-Easters are shakin' in their boots.

(Well Ok, more like shakin' from laughing so hard... but what the hey)

Troutn'

:) You bet Mark... The season is coming to a rapid close though.

I've got designs on an outflow trip before it all wraps up and a couple of trib experiences.

I'm definitley going to hit my favourite Huron trib on Rememberance Day. I need another glam Chrome and Poppy shot.

Gr8

:) A great year for sure Skooter.

You've been an absolute riot and a real treat for us here at Fish-Hawk.Net.

It's our collective mission to get you back out on the ice next year. I need another shot of you but with frozen eyebrows this time.
(Yes, we'll be renting a hut!)

Derby

:) Guys it's been a blast... I really love the derby. I'll be the first to admit I don't get out enough, but when I do it certainly adds something to the occasion. Btw. I can't tell you how many guys I was fishing with this year offered me their fish for the derby... None were accepted of course, bu...

Windy

:) Well done Skooter... talk about updating an old classic. :P This has been a fun thread.

You'll put her to the test next weekend when she gets bashed around at Quinte. Hopefully the planer board mast will remain on board huh?

Good luck folks. I'll be chasing Chrome off the west coast.

:) Good job Big Sim, you won't regret that purchase. I have almost the same boat which most here know as "The Battleship". The only difference between yours and mine is the transom. I went with the long shaft for the big water. Seen here surrounded by miscreants... http://img.photob...
