Re: Anyone interested?

No carp fisher that want to partner with for that event?

Just the sound of the buzzers telling you the line is being peeled-off gets your adrenaline going. Never know when that big 20 - 30 lbs going to be netted.

Re: Got to love CYBER Monday Discount

UPS delivery today. Fast service.

It is beautiful, comes with a spare spool.. Got to read the instruction because it has a small package with three small washers for drag purposes of the Baitrunner efficiency if I understand.

Happy for you.

Yes good read and quality.

Even if I read it all, I still go back to it the odd time.

Got to love CYBER Monday Discount

Was looking at this reel for Surfcasting, which can also be used for other type of fishing (e.g., carp fishing, etc.). Just ordered it today from Carp Kit International located in Hamilton, ON. Shimano Ultegra XTC 14000, Baitrunner. It is a big reel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgSVpp2ZUUI&sn...

Re: Special material for tying flies

That would be a good reason explaining my lack of finding them. Seasonal.

Tried a few Dollorama, Dollar Sense, Walmart, Toys-R-US, etc.

Special material for tying flies

I have a fly pattern called the Squirminator. One piece of material requires the hair of the Hairy Puffer Soft Rubber Ball toy (some have a LED flashing hard plastic ball inside the covering ball). I use to see these useless funny toys all over in stores. Now that I need one yellow colored one, I ca...

There you go. Proof in the pudding.

Pre-baiting is a good attractant.

Drag line %

I never paid attention to technical stuff, just used my various rods and reels (spolled with lbs line) and adjusted the tension depending on the size of the fish and the fight.

What is really meant by the following:

"Plan to set your drag at 25-30% of the line test intended for the rod".

Re: Targeting late season carp

Try this recipe:

Cut the hot-dogs into pieces about 1 inch long and put them in a small ziplock bag. Pour in about 2 table spoons of the anise extract and add one teaspoon of garlic salt. Leave to soak a few hours or overnight, the place chunk on hair-rig.

Re: Targeting late season carp

Sweet in Spring and Summer, spices in Fall and Winter.

But still eat everything presented to them. Were you going to pre-bait your area?

Re: FFF 2015 - hope I can find open water

Also depends on where I will be for New Year's day. Ontario or Québec. Sure to get some crazy comments from relatives asking where I am or gone too. LOL Wife already think I'm nuts participating in this FFF, and she loves carp fishing. Already enquiring as potential waters that won't be frozen and t...
