...to me 18-21 inch is perfect table fare. Don't they have regs in some areas where you can keep one of these then the second fish you are allowed has to be over / under a slot? That would be do-able.

I eat the smaller ones to but under 15.7 is too small. That means you are going to end up keeping a 14 inch pickeral....rediculous.

Tomcat, the issue is you are going to have to keep a 14 inch pickeral to eat if the max is 15.7. 14 inches is to small to eat, sure it woul taste great but the size!

:!: What the? Are you 5 serious? Supporting Protected Slot 40cm/15.7" to 65cm/25.6" means no eating of any pickeral. Pickeral is the only fish I eat. I tried a 25" pickeral once; too tough, not enjoyable. Under 15.7; you would be allowed 2 and they wouldn't be very fat. Minimum 19.7 I...

LFL, in some cases it may not be the fishermen who are depleting the salmon numbers so closing the season will not have a heavy impact. The negative impact is coming from an non-native species. Maybe the muskie have bee naround these parts for 20 years but that is besides the point if they weren't s...

Emerald shiners are common to early death before they are used. I avoid buying them at all costs. They have no durability; good for jigging with their heads. The most durable are golden shiners by far. Wallyboss; WOW! You must have the golden touch!

Slushpuppy, That's interesting to see published by the DNR. If they could net them all and move them; that woulb be a good thing. They could still allow those left behind to be caught but most importantly the bulk of the population would be kept. Depletion of the salmon numbers would be lost revenue...

CCB and Ganman; I agree. I see people are taking there love of Muskies to heart. The muskies in question are introduced and are essentially killing the trout and salmon thus they are promoted to be fished. It is the same thing as in the Kawarthas with crappie. You may think it is different because y...
