Re: Frog rod

Is the difference for you the fact that the 736 is a heavy and the 735 is a med heavy? Or is there more than just that. If you go to the Dobyns site, they explain it much better than I could. I preferred the 736C because I fished the heavy sloppy vegetation. I could also get more distance with the ...

Re: Frog rod

The Dobyns 735C is an excellent choice but if Ed has a 736C, that would be my choice.

Re: Revivifying Cork Handles

Clean handles? Paul and I GRIND them on the floor of the boat when we are stepping on them. The mud, leaves, branches and beaver diarrhea that we track and slop into the boat from dragging it across beaver dams and lodges to get to untouched and untapped honey holes leave a nice patina. Proud of ou...

Re: Senkos, Senkos, Senkos.

I personally like using a weighted hook when wacky rigging. At the same time I usually use an o-ring so the weight of an o-ring (Really is this an issue?) doesn't really matter. What does matter is that using an o-ring I go through less senko and senko style baits. It doesn't matter if the hook is ...

Re: Paddletales Wing Ding Spring Sale Thing

Rumor has it that representatives from the Big Box Stores will be there this year. They want too see and learn how to put on a real Customer Appreciation event. Why would walmart be there? That makes no sense. They don't carry fishing stuff. :D Aren't they a major sponsor for the FLW ?...

The damage to the handles are not caused by over-fishing.
It's due to the bashing against the boat deck when he losses a Bass.

Re: Revivifying Cork Handles

Thanks for this post, very informative. About the cork sealer, what kind of finish does it leave behind? I have some generic cork sealer/conditioner, but it seems to be very glossy. I use it on all my cork handles and here is my take on the finish. If I had a Glossy Meter that read 1 to 10 with 10 ...

Adam ..... Get the electronics.
Buy yourself an old school anchor. There is no cool factor but it works.
Hmmmmmmmmm, Is the use of an anchor permissible in tournaments ?

Re: Local bass tournament for first timer?

If you are going to be fishing with your 13 year old, my advice would be to fish the MSBassin Tournament. It is (In my opinion) a good starting point for someone that has never fished tournaments. It is not too far and would give you ample time to prefish the Rideau River near Pirate Cove Marina. If...
