Re: Bass gear questions
Wow thanks for taking the time to answer me, I've never been quite sure on what lines to use in certain situations, when your attaching the Fluro leader to braid are you using a micro swivel or direct tie? For braid to fluoro connections, I always use the Alberto knot. (Youtube/google it - I can't ...

Re: Bay of Quinte Walleye
Extremely high and very murky/muddy water from Big Bay to Long Reach. I'd bet it's the same all along the bay.
Docks at County Shores were basically unusable unless you like to slip and swim in that cold water!

Re: Bay of Quinte update
No real success for us but some for others. Bite was slow for many from what we heard. Water is SUPER high - launched at County Shores near Telegraph Narrows and they're basically launching boats on what is normally dry land/parking lot. Current in the narrows was extreme. Water is super muddy and f...

Re: Walleye world
1. Have you fished it before. Yes, 3 or 4 times. 2. How did you do. Great. No prizes but LOTS of fun and some nice fish and memories. 3. If in top ten where did you catch your fish (please give map co-ordinates). Hay Bay. But no top-10 fish. 4. What did you catch it on. A boat. :) Heading out Friday...

Re: casting rod set ups?
$100-$180 per rod, and the same per reel? Or $100-$180 per combo? I'd look at lower-end Shimano reels as they're pretty durable and yet still perform well. Something like the Caenan or Citica. For rods, Shimano Compre are great. If you are looking for dedicated combos, what I'd recommend is that you...

Re: Sunscreen VS Helix 7....Any solutions??
I cannot see your pic (blocked at work) but I would try the following: On the textured plastic casing, try a solution of dish soap (Dawn recommended) and warm water. Use an old toothbrush to really work it into the tiny little textured bumps. Wipe with a damp (not sopping wet) cloth a few times. Th...

Re: Rod and line advice
Thanks for the asvice guys. And yes Drop I realize I should work on my knots but is's a bit like maths for me: obviously useful but somewhat alien for me....but yes, I'll spend a few winter hours going throug my collection of knots links. As to the line issue I'm getting more and more inclned to gi...

Re: Cabelas... Whatchya Think?
I went yesterday. It's a nice store, but still a store. Regular prices are in-line with most outdoors stores in Canada - that is to say, sky-high above American prices. I did purchase a Cabelas brand Gore-Tex rain jacket for $160, reg $200, due to yesterdays' "20% off all Cabela's branded merch...

Re: Marking Lures
What about scratching a tally-like numbering system into lures? (Only because straight lines are easier to scratch than the number 6, for example). Plus scratches can be very fine and not change the appearance of the lure like coloured marker or dots could. 3 = 3-5' = ||| 8 = 8-10' = -||| 15 = 15' ...

Re: big rideau water levels at boat launches
Tried launching a 19' bass boat yesterday at the conservation launch with a Toyota FJ. No dice. Water was coming in the back hatch of the FJ and nearly the front doors... and the boat still wasn't in deep enough to float! Wasted $6. Pulled it out and went to the harbour - no issues at all. $12/launch.
