Re: DIY fishing Cuba- Part 1 of 3 -Cayo Largo

Thank you for the amazing post! FYI there are lots of barracudas and tarpons in the golf ponds. No one forbids fishing there, especially in the morning. Here are a few vids. Russian guy looks funny but he somehow knows what he's doing freaking well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjTgRirwG8s https...

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i52/scurochiaro/Cuba/2256534142_c88d5d23f8_b.jpg Here's a mid-winter type of post -highly detailed and not everyone's cup of tea. Part 1 of 3 is a story about learning how to DIY fish the island south of Cuba called Cayo Largo starting about 2004. Fishing saltwater...

Re: Opimika Wilderness Camps/Cottages

How about Lake Kipawa in Quebec directly due east, just as big and probably better fishing, Yep, barely 20 minutes from the border to Kipawa. Hey Scuro do you still go up there anymore, I know you used to? For me it's been too long for my liking. Sure do miss my many trips. If anyone ever goes up t...

Can't say I'm into "burning arms of steel" fishing but it's a lovely report and well worth the read. If I were there I'd be there with you fishing for snapper, snook, and my fav....tarpon. 8)

Re: A NUNAVUT NOMAD FOR ARCTIC CHAR. Report & More.

Q_UsmvtyxEI I made the too many pics and words comment tongue in cheek. Mozart was once told by a king that his masterpiece had too many notes. As you know when you write these reports they grow organically, almost without you. Your job is to not screw that up by getting in front of it. You are you...

Re: A NUNAVUT NOMAD FOR ARCTIC CHAR. Report & More.

Wordsy...there's too many words and pics. :D What's the true audience for an epic report like this? Cause you're casting pearls but that ain't important. It all struck home here cause I could relate to the many diverse and finely crafted elements... What was best was how it was all integrated. It's ...

Re: Helluva Spring Start to Fishing... and a Buick.

I'm more interested in the exact location that the tick was found. With your new heft was it on the underside of your moob hidden under flesh on flesh? :D

Great looking fish, especially the brown...thanks again for another entertaining and well put together read.

I'm all for the preamble in this case to avoid confusion for newbies. There are many new to fishing and the distinctions of law between the two countries is important information. Nice fish RJ

Re: Lake trout spoon size

Troll first, certain spots will produce, jig those areas. I don't jig but that is the way I would go if I were to go that way. If I'm trolling the deeper I go, generally the bigger the spoon. They will hit NKs so you don't have to go too small. Also I use more the flutter spoon style of spoon instea...

Re: Inflatable boat

Fished with a hobie inflatable that allows you to pedal or paddle. That is important because you can troll or you can adjust position while still fishing.
