Good fishing in the harbour aroud the beach. Fitzroy has many of the speices your looking for. White streamers are very effective.

they are very popular down in the US. Check out the forums on http://www.kayakfishingstuff.com The nice thing about the mirage drive is that is allows a kayak to imitate a tube (with the exception of no reverse). I considered one a couple of years ago but given the number of rocks I hit in my kayak ...

Seaweed, I follow all the rules and regs on the water. You are right about mixing yaks and power boats.. My biggest concern when kayaking is the thing I can't control, the action of another boater. I honestly say fishing the Rideau in daylight in a paddle craft can be challenging. Not due to our act...

If any kayakers are interested, a couple of Toronto based yakers are organizing a BOQ Yak Fishing Trip. I was out this past Saturday and Sunday and have to say its still great paddling out there.

Joco I was out last year with dry pants and a semi-dry top layered with under-amour and a paddling shirt. It wasn't my body which was cold it was my feet and hands. For my feet, the problem was the regular boot isn't high enough for launching. I was thinking of picking up a set of a pair of swellies...
