Re: KARS BASSIN - Saturday July 4
Rideau River near Kars was extremely tough on Saturday. Blazing hot sun, a huge amount of boat traffic, lack of water clarity. None of that put me off, should have been able to slam a few, but there just wasn't anything big biting. Never mind I had bass jumping around me, and a GIANT musky leapt out...

Rideau River (Kars area) Bass outing tomorrow
So, Who wants to catch some 4th of July Bass? What better way to celebrate Independence Day then letting loose with some top-water action tomorrow? I'm launching from the Kars Community Centre on Steven's Creek, plan is to be there around 9 a.m. and on the water shortly thereafter.... This is an ope...

Re: Who's the best in Canada?
Super cool insights from the Man, RJ.
Thanks for adding to the discussion. You're pretty lucky to have been able to fish with the top 3.
Cheers

Re: Who's the best in Canada?
Also, Big ups to fellow Bassmaster Dave Chong, one of the best Bass anglers in Canada today! Doug Brownridge is another top angler. Derek Strub is another name you have probably heard. From around Ottawa, Charles Sims and Nigel Touhey, Frank Ramsay and Don Jones are regular names you see at the top ...

Re: Who's the best in Canada?
I forgot the most important of all, my Dad .... Jean-Claude Dufour for showing me how. This is a really good comment - it really is true that as Fathers and Mothers we can be the biggest inspiration in our little one's lives. I know that when I was a little boy, my dad taking me fishing (as well as...

Re: Tube Jighead help.
the best i've used SEM outdoors..hand made fellow anglers. landed a huge musky this weekend and the hook was still straight. http://semoutdoorscom.ipage.com/store/page2.html Great ! Those TJ-1s are exactly what I m looking for. :) Those do look like good product - thanks for making us aware of them...

Re: Who's the best in Canada?
Sorry to confuse everyone, it isn't like there are rules, just put down whoever is #1 in your view, TV personality or not (you don't have to have a TV show to be an incredible angler.) Some people might think RJ is the best, he doesn't have a show (yet?), but it doesn't rule him out. That guy can fl...

Who's the best in Canada?
I'm interested in who you guys think is the #1 Fishing Personality/Angler in Canada.
Doesn't have to necessarily be someone famous we all know, just throw some names out and let me know who you think is Canada's Number 1 Fishing Personality...

Re: Local wins FLW
Seems like more and more, Canucks are starting to get some respect for our skills on the water. I was just reading about Corey Johnston's success as well. Let's keep it up guys, I know in the future there will be even more Canadian superstar Anglers!

Re: Tube Jighead help.
I have the Bite Me tube jigs in stock as of right now, but when that's depleted, they're gone. Bite Me has gone out of business. I'm looking for a replacement jig in the 3/8 to 3/4 weights. In the lighter weights I have some really good alternatives. Ed So, I was going to recommend Bite Me tube jig...

Re: FROGS!
Zeke13 knows what he's talking about :) I love the Live Target Frog myself but then there is the colour issue. I always have a Frog with a white belly and a Frog with a dark belly. The colour on the top top of the Frog as far as I'm concerned is of little concern. Unless Bass have the ability to se...

Re: FROGS!
Caught a 5 pound largemouth on a white (with black spotted back) Boo Ya Pad Crasher last week on the Rideau Lakes system. He freakin' crushed it through a weed/algae mat in about 2.5 feet of water! He tried his best to get away, but he wasn't going anywhere. I had him completely pinned.... I usually...

Re: What are you looking forward to using part III
I'm using my Chronarch Ci4+ on a topwater rod I use for buzz baits and "walk the dog" type topwaters. It's definitely as good as advertised thus far. I'm jealous of that Hog on the Pompadour - I've thrown mine a few times now and still have yet to even get a blow-up on it, let alone actual...

Re: Well sh*t.
I had 7 pound Sunline sniper on a drop shot road that was on there for a couple months (going back to walleye opener). I had it explode off my reel on a short 15 foot pitch last week out on the water. It wasn't as bad as the picture here, but my knife had to make an appearance and let's just say tha...
