A common method of estimating weight for musky is Lenght X Girth X Girth / 800 = Weight. Looking at the picture I would estimate the girth at about 18 inches which puts the weight at 18lbs. Very nice fish.
after Musky...Everything else is just bait.
Congrats

Re: Akwesasne fishing permit?
That island in front of Cornwall launch is Awkwasasne land..they have Pow Wows there all the time..So its not halfway...I believe as soon as you pass one of the islands that says IR on it your venturing into Awkwa water.. I live in the area and I know were Cornwall Island is. Are you implying that ...

Re: Akwesasne fishing permit?
So exactly what is area of jurisdiction for a Akwesasne CO. The Chanel between Cornwall Island and the Ontario mainland is pretty narrow. Is it halfway or something else?
Anybody know where I can find the Akwesasne fishing regs?

Re: Fishing Jerseys
Received my jersey today. I ordered 4 weeks ago Monday and they said it would take 3-4 weeks so they were right on. The artwork is well done and is positioned properly and is to scale. Using the online design program I was concerned about how the final product would but it turned out great. I would ...

Re: Fishing Jerseys
I'm trying to get some more info on how people go about getting fishing Jerseys. I know that people with sponsors probably have a little easier access to them than just a regular angler but I would like to show support for the companies that I love using. Can you just get one made or are their copy...

Re: Mercury Spitfire Prop
I upgraded to a 19 pitch, 12.5 inch spitfire on my 90hp. Originally I had a 21p prop on it. Original prop, top end was 41.5mph. With the spitfire I have gotten 43.5 with full 80L of gas and 2ppl, so I would think I can squeeze 44 easily out of it. I first noticed how smooth the prop is. You can hea...

Re: Fishing Jerseys
I have thought about it and may still do it. I was looking heavily into the fishbum jersey a few months back but I have yet to commit. I like the looks of these types of shirts as well but really like the fact that atleast this one seems to be UPF rated which would mean it would cut down on the are...

Re: St. Lawrence near Long Sault
Thanks for the feedback everyone! Flooded, do you know if most of the boat launches down that way are decent? I have a 16 foot aluminum that is pretty easy to launch and I don't mind paying for a day launch. The fee is $10.00 at the Long Sault marina. The City of Cornwall has a decent ramp at Guind...

You did not say which Humminbird model you are using but both my old Matrix 15 and my 383C unit have a Depth Offset setting. This allows you to measure depth from a predetermined point above or below the transducer face. This can be useful if your boat has an extermely deep draft because you can set...

Check with Paddletails and see what they can do for you. And if they can't help I would try GPSCity.ca. They seem to have a limited selection of Humminbird product but have a good selection by Garmin and Lowrance. I have ordered stuff from them before. Order on Monday and have it by Wednesday/Thursd...

Fisherguy, some on-board chargers have different settings for different types of batteries (Flooded vs AGM). Make sure it is set correctly. Also remember reading an article in a boating magazine comparing various on-board chargers. Some are very sensitive to input voltages in order to get maximum ch...

Wrexxer, I would second Cprince's recommendation for Norway Bay. Have fished there for 25+ years and very rarely have I ever been blanked. Target just about anything want, Musky/Pike, SMB, walleye. If you are so inclined you can also chase the big channel catfish in deeper waters. Personally I prefe...
