Welcome, Fisher, and good luck to you with your new boat; sounds nice. With regard to launching, I am lucky in that my hubby trailers the boat and puts in 99% of the time. I have had to (trailer &) launch on the oddball occasion and I think it's safe to say all beginners look like idiots at the ...

Fish_Head, With regard to your pic's, don't give up. :? I believe you can post from your C drive, but make sure the image size isn't too large. If you go into the photo gallery, there is an "upload" feature there. It took us a few tries to get it right, but it's worth it to be able to shar...

Fish_Head, If you go to the Fish-Hawk.Net Forum Index page, then open the Rules and Tips topic, you'll find instructions for posting pic's. I'd like to see some of those digital shots of the wood duck(s) you managed to get. Hope you can manage to get your pic's posted. Either way, glad you figured o...

If any of you guys can get a digital pic to share with us, that would be great. I know CCB is a fellow birder; and I, too, have never gotten lucky enough to see a Harlequin "in person"! Meanwhile, enjoy the view!

Harlequin ducks are among the most beautiful, in my opinion, along with wood ducks. Lucky you to see them, and drakes at that. This is the time of year you might spot the oddball species that doesn't necessarily stay in your region -- migrants, so to speak.

Honestly speaking, I am somewhere between choices #1 and #2. That makes me a "lazy diehard".
Seriously, depending on the time I've got and the value / action of the lure I'll be presenting, it could be either one.
While on the subject of honesty, my knots STINK.
