Definitely a public launch on Scugog, I think all that is open there right now is walleye, crappie, and perch... maybe carp if there are any left. I think there are better lakes in the area, Sturgeon, Rice, Pidgeon. You'll probably have better luck getting answers about lakes in the Toronto area on ...

Curado is definitely on the expensive side at $250. Especially when you consider that this years model Citica is pretty much the exact same as last years model of Curado. And from what I read the only difference between the new Citica and the new Curado D is that the Curado has an extra bearing, a l...

I personally don't think you can beat the Shimano Citica for $100. Cabelas has them on sale right now for $99 and all-american outdoors regular price is $98. You just missed out, Shimano had a $30 rebate offer on them that ended April 30th... they were a steal at $69! Quantum has some decent rebate ...

CR's Marine Service in Schenectady NY had them for about $2400 US when I was down there to pick up my boat last month. He had 2 in the showroom when I was there. It's about a 5 hour drive from Ottawa but based on the last prices I got from local dealers it's well worth the drive. I'll be heading dow...

I think what Arthur was referring to was cleaning to stop the spread of invasive species. There are signs at many Quebec lakes I have been to that state boat must be cleaned before being launched. I'm sure these signs are all over but I've noticed them mainly at Quebec lakes around my place. I don't...

Side/surface mount or flush mount, I think it just comes down to personal preference. I'm going with side mount but only because I don't like the idea of drilling such a big hole for the flush mount and if you ever decide to take them off or switch to a different rod holder setup it won't leave such...

Those are pretty high demands for a single rod. Dragging a 12 inch crankbait through slop and off rocks at 4mph for musky is quite a bit different than pulling bouncers and crankbaits around at slow speeds for walleye. I've never done much trolling for pike but guessing it's pretty similar to musky....

I just bought a boat from the states last month, couldn't have been easier. Only real downside I can see is that I have to drive a couple hours down to NY state for warranty if needed. For me it was well worth it. I just saw the same model boat with an older, smaller motor listed in Toronto for $800...

Champlain is actually on the border of New York and Vermont.. as well the northern tip which is right up in to Quebec. South of the border you can fish under a NY or Vermont license but regs depend on which section of the lake you are fishing. December 1 thru the Friday preceding the 2nd Saturday in...

What makes the plastic on the Folbe's any better for big fish than say a Scotty PowerLock or equivalent? I'm running a Traxstech rail system using Salty's for Musky and Scotty PowerLocks for everything else. Pretty similar to the Trojan setups but they seem to have more out of the box options availa...

i think the cost compared to a Pro Kicker or even 9.9 Bigfoot is the primary reason I'm looking at one of these. Factor in gas prices and it's almost a no-brainer. If I was only trolling for walleye and trout I'd already have it. Just doesn't seem like the batteries will hold up trolling around at 3...

Anyone have any feedback on the Minn Kota 36v 101 Vantage?
I'm in the same situation as fisheaded but didn't want to hijack his thread. I'm looking for a kicker for my Crestliner 1750. I've got a 24v 67lb bow mount but I don't think that's gonna cut it for trolling all day. I'm considering a Minn Kota Vantage 36v 101lb Transom mount as an alternative to a k...
