I own a 893C JWR, 873C CRR, and a 803S JWR. The 893 is my favourite rod I own. Paired with a Curado E7, it feels like an extension of my arm. It is by far the nicest rod i've laid my hands on, for its purpose. i'm just starting to unlock all it's purposes. I've thrown cranks, medium flippin' jigs, s...

Final Northern Trip of the Year

The boys and I headed back to the Haliburton area to play around in KK country. Fished the long weekend in a pretty heavily fished cottage lake - however, this time of the year was much quieter. Water temps were in the low 50's. We did our best to target big largies, but instead mostly found solid s...

i have done some personal testing, and i have yet to find a digital scale that is actually 100% accurate. however, some are pretty close. the ones that aren't, well, they are those $29.99 scales. Out of the package, they weigh almost correct. Almost. But each year that goes by, they start getting mo...

well, it's about time another brand of scale was released that potentially isn't junk.... cause most of the ones i've played with are.... it's the same dirt cheap part (the actual "scale" potion) on all scales, then the price of the scale is determined by what is built around the dirt chea...

Justin, can you put the Berkley TEC scale in your article for comparison? I have found that scale to be the best scale (that is mass produced, not including the chattillions etc) As for this report, awesome!!!! some of those shots with your father are amazing. Great piggie bass as well.... Have fun ...

RJ, that pike was no accident.....i know you were targetting 40" pike with cranks and mono in 3' of water...i just know it! Landshark, that fish looks mean....pure and simple....and it has to, feeding on walleye like it does.... I dont give pike the respect they deserve...probably cause the one...

Fun with Friends ... and a nickel taboot

Each year we are invited up to stay with our good friends Rob and Kim.... It started a few years ago with the intent to learn how to bass fish...not much bass fishing in southern ontario - unless you count the roaches (smallies). Sure they are fun, but easy to catch, and get like footballs.... My lo...

"set it on self-timer then push the release button half way down to focus - once it focuses, I depresses completely , and have some 10 or so seconds to get to the bow of the boat." hmmm, i never do that...just press the buttom to start the timer...maybe that's where my problem is coming in...

justin, i have a question about timed photo's.... i use a canon something or other....a powershot s5.... when i put the setting on timer mode, and take the shots, they seem to be always over exposed. i change my position to the sun, change the settings from auto to hell, just about every other one.....
