Interesting reply by OTRA but will a cap be able to handle it, a small cap may be rendered useless by the motor current draw. Maybe a diode isolator in-line before the cap would help - All this if you get the problem of course..... Just thought, I have run a sonar and motor on the same cranking batt...

I got a plastic coated chain for this reasonfishforfun wrote:Danforth and Brydons are tough to set on rock bottoms, this is where the Bruce excells.Ady the chain is nice and necessary for overnight anchoring but very noisy when fishing, you have to go under water and listen to chain tighten and loosen.

On-Board Charger
So Santa got me a nice new Guest 2-bank charger this and I've been reading the mounting instructions - strange I know but I thought I had better do this as power is involved. The instructions state an 8" clearance all round and not to mount on carpet. well, my Princecraft battery bay is carpete...

if casting is your main preferencce then match the rod to your boat - by this I mean if you have high sides you may want to think about an 8'! figure 8'ing with a 6' is tough on the knees whereas an 8' is just a dip. Personally I love the StCroix series and after a recent break and swift replacement...

I'm looking for a new rod too, I have a 7' Daiwa now but it's time to upgrade. I think I shall be looking at StCroix, their warranty and customer service is second to none. I shall look at the recommended ones above. As for line on the Ottawa, you don't really need finesse with the water colour, but...

I have the medium, sometimes wish I got the bigger one, I just can't resist picking up new lures when I see something interesting. The Lakewoods are great boxes, well made with a professional feel. The medium has 2 side pockets for bit and pieces and front pouches for quick access to your pliers and...

if in a removable tank, let it stand for a few days, syphon off the stuff on top, careful not to let the tube get on the bottom where the water is. Add some stabilizer and put it away for next year. Whats left will be small enough to burn off when noone around. If in the boat tank, disconnect the fe...

I think you may have to wait a while for that feature. It will need a fancy gps unit with an interface for the TM, and would only work for selected units. I imagine Lowrance are working on it. The auto pilot just keeps the boat direction stable, a great feature, I have one and would not be without it.
