Gilford

:) If it were me MMM, I'd defer the trip to Cooks Bay until there was at least 5-6" of good ice. I've fished Simcoe for a number of years and can honestly tell you that while I've seen people out fishing in such conditions, the wrong wind will rip it up in a heartbeat. Trust me, the Perch will ...

:) Sweet job.

That shack is class from the bottom up. Excellent functionality and a great paint job.

You'll be putting a few in the net with that one.

Good luck

:) Good luck Fishing Freak. I know what it's like to have a Kidney go sideways on you. Stick to the plan, and don't try to agitate things too much... Us outdoor types can't sit still for more than 5 mins... If you do go ice fishing, try and grab a ride out and back. All the best. :) Legend

Mealworms

:) You bet Mealworms work Jig Head. When I was at the derby last year I also brought some Butterfly worms. They are twice the size of wax worms and they worked fantastic for those finicky Crappie in Crappie bay. Don't be afraid to mix it up. As it's been said so many times before, let the fish tell ...

SW Guys

:) Northerner, g-unis and Jimmys/Caseys dream.

If you'd like, make the trek to my place in Kitchener and I'll take it from there. It'll break up the trip and keep the costs down for you guys.

It'll be a blast.

Le Bateau

:) Terrific, Remember guys, there will be a fair number of us who won't be in boats. I feel a little better about the solid stuff this time of year, I'll be shore fishing, and telling tall yule tales with the other brave souls. I'll try and firm up a location for some fellowship later this week. :wi...

Wow

:) Excellent stuff RR.

I would have drowned with what I thought was the right thing to do.

I actually saw a guy out on the Kelso reservior today in Milton (West of Toronto) I hope he's seen this video. The ice can only be 2" at best here in the S/W.

Thanks for the info.

Beach

:) Skeiner, I think the beach was Leigh (Cragleigh?) It was quite rocky and the guys were wisely sitting in their trucks with their rods set up on a tripod. They were on or just off bottom from the looks of things... I was thinking Bows but Mark could be right too, although I don't think it's cool e...

Brrrrr

:) Ok. It looks like there is something to this outing.

If we could have a volunteer to organize a fish, I'll try and get us a place for some fellowship, refreshments and something warm to nosh afterwards.

Anyone adverse to St. Kitts?

Number 6

:) I was up that way with Jackie on Saturday FFF. We made it to Springmount just west of Owen Sound. Lots of cars in the ditch and unbelievable amounts of snow. And not a soul had their lines in the water. I think this storm caught them all dozing. Strangely enough, south of Port Elgin there was har...

Wow

:) Nice work Greymist...

FFF had a great year by the looks of things... I do wish I didn't have sound though. All of a sudden I feel like I must go get me a pickup truck complete with gun rack, confederate flag and Yosimite Sam mud flaps.

Aluminium Boats and Road Salt

:) A question for you good folks. If you trailer your aluminium boat in the winter months, what impact if any will the road salt have on your boat? In particular, will exposure to the salty dust lead to long term hull corrosion? I had a motorcycle once that had an aluminium engine casting (air coole...
