FatRap - This is a great idea that might work well for my little 12 footer. Question: - I see you've mounted it on your port side. This is ideal to have the motor out of your way when running on the gas engine. How do you find steering the electric? Do you find that you can easily reach it, and do y...

Great idea Bobber - I'm glad to see that you are working at the 5+ club still and trying to come up with a 'solution'. Great work! A possible extension would be to have a vote on "Fish-hawk Fish of the Year". My buddies and I do that on our yearly weekend trip. It is a load of fun - doesn'...

Good stuff BBR and Markus. Yeah - he's catching up to you Rich, but you can tell from the pose that he is still an amateur. From your photos it is obvious that when you're staring into a Rock Bass's eyes, you have an intimite understanding of that fishes brain - it's feeding patterns, psychology... ...

One time I tried hot dogs and didn't have much luck! I was fishing from a dock and catching sunfish. It was the type of fishing where you throw out a bobber, wait 0 to 30 seconds for it to start moving and then try hooking one of the little guys. I ran out of worms and tried Hot Dogs and didn't get ...

Well, since you've made me feel so welcome allow me to introduce myself and post a few pics. My story begins back in the small town of New Liskeard located in Northern Ontario. It was a great place to grow up and one of the best parts was living across the street from a lake, Lake Temiskaming. Lake ...

Hi all -

Maybe this is already in the works, but I was going to suggest bringing a few of the fish-hawk hats to the get together. I'm new to the group and would like to pick one up. Plus I'm nervous and looking for anyway to help me fit in.

It's happened to me once - about 12 years ago. We'd been trolling back and forth across a hot spot - catching decent walleye (up to 2 lbs) and pike (up to 5 lbs). I hooked a small walleye, about 14". It was on the line a few seconds and then it jumped. I remember saying to my fishing buddy - &q...

12" Aluminum Boat on Car Roof?

I plan on buying an older 12" aluminum boat today and I'm hoping to be able to put it on the roof of my car (Nissan Maxima). I am concerned about the beam width (from spec'ing similar boats I expect it to be 60"), and also the bow hanging down and blocking visibility too much. I'm going to...
