Rob, I just heard about Sly's passing from Kev at Ian's wedding... sorry to hear that man.

Here's a video of Sly's Wilcraft on Simcoe a few years back.

I'd say you'll find 'em no prob where your shack is now, just try fishing the whole column. I was there on the weekend and caught one on a golden shiner down 8' over 60fow and another hugging bottom with a lipless crank in 30fow...

If I were you I'd research the cost of a heated hut on Mississippi, White or the Ottawa and compare that cost to getting out with Yannick (Fisherguy33)... I'd bet he's comparable in price and you'll end up on productive water.. he's guaranteeing you fish. No brainer to me, especially to make your fi...

It's a crapshoot event on a small lake. $65 pre-drilled holes where everyone runs out to pick their spot and no FishTraps allowed... it's anyone's game at that point with all the commotion but yes, some fantastic prizes year after year. Joco and his dad are regulars.

One good item to use if you don't want to bring out a tripod is an XShot camera extender and the kayak mount they have designed for it. I use a few of these mounts on my kayak and you can get some unique angles... would work well on any boat as well. http://www.xshotpix.com/kayakmount.php As far as ...

Look forward to seeing your videos Steve. In fact, like you, I really enjoy watching any videos people post up and with today's technology anyone can throw together 5-10 minutes of quality video of their day.

There's no ice. The main channel was wide open yesterday at the beach with large sections of sheet ice making it's way downriver after the thaw. All bays are still solid though.

Thanks for clearing that up Man'N'Orange  I still wonder what is worse for a fish though: 1) a slammer rig which is going to put a wee bit more force into the hookset than an average angler would... or 2) the average joe mis-setting his tipdown/jacktrap and guthooking a fish thus preventing a s...

a spring gaff looks like this. http://archive.liveauctioneers.com/archive4/langsauction/22946/0996_1_lg.jpg It's my understanding Slammer type rod setups are illegal now as per MNR regs but the very definition posted above is a bit vague.
