Re: Ottawa River Shore Fishing

Parking is the only regulation I can think of which wasn't an issue for us. I was using large shiners for bait with a 4/0 circle hook - they work for pretty much anything. Even when they are dead they still work well. I think you could go anywhere along the shore of the Ottawa and have luck. We fish...

Ottawa River Shore Fishing

I had a chance to head out shore fishing with a buddy this past Friday night on the Ottawa River. Caught lots of fish and a good variety including my first 2 Gar and a PB Channel Catfish. Caught some pike, crappie and Walleye too. Hoping to make it out again soon. http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Nightime GAR

I often see Gar come after my minnow when night fishing for Cats & Walleye on the Ottawa River but can't seem to land them. I've had them come right up to the shore and grab the minnow and swim off but I always miss the hook set. Just wondering what kind or size of hook or rig I should use to la...

I'd be interested to know this too becasue I'm going to be visiting my parents in the area on Satuday and was hoping to hit Elevator Bay for some gators.

Constance Lake - Jan 16

Made it out to Constance Lake this past Sunday with the girlfriend. I figured after I was out-Perched on Meech Lake the day before by my GF and her father 12-0 that I had to redeem myself and we live pretty close to Constance! It was cold but we braved it. It was my first time there so didn't know w...

Thanks for the advice boys. Fishing was a bit slow today but caught about a dozen Perch in about 3 hours down in 40'. All on frozen minnows that we picked up at Bits and Baits. Just used a yellow jig head right off the bottom. Marked alot more on the flasher but they just weren't as furocious today....

Meech Lake

Hey Guys, I'm heading out to Gatineau Park (Meech Lake) in seach for Perch this weekend with the girlfreind. I was told that there is a live-bait ban there but are you allowed to use dead minnows? and are maggots/worms included in the live-bait ban? Also it's my first time fishing there so any help/...

I have to agree about using it for leaders only. For the last 2 years my main bass rig has included a spool of 20lbs Spirder-Wire braid with an 8' 12lbs flurocarbon leader and it works like a charm. I just used a double nail knot to connect them. You can cast far as hell with the braid and then let...

The last pic of the small fish seems to be of a tiger muskie? yes/no?

The markings do look different than the pike we caught but I can't tell - can anybody out there confirm this?

That hats always bring us good luck :P Don't you watch Fish TV? You'll see all the Leaf players on there, they might not be good at hockey, but those boys can fish! haha Here are some pics with a better hat, taken about a month ago - not on Crotch though but a lake I've fished on since I was a kid! ...

Crotch Lake, Ompah - August Long Weekend

Spent the August long weekend camping & fishing on Crotch Lake with my girlfriend. Caught a few nice bass and some pike (including the smallest one I've ever seen). We only fished the afternoon and evening becasue we slept in until about 10am both days. Must have been getting that city rush out ...

Sunday May 23 on The Larry

Headed out on the St. Lawrence with the GF on Sunday. Had an issue with the lights on my boat trailer so was only able to go out for a couple of hours and had to get home before dark - so no walleye fishing for us. Managed a few small pike though. http://i885.photobucket.com/albums/ac53/dupe420/The%...
