Re: Line for Son’s Spinning reel?
It all depnds on his skill level. The lighter/finer the line the more knots/birdsnests/windknots and untangling you will have to do. If he is relativly skilled I would suggest a 20lb braid otherwise I would use 10 pound mono. It tangles less, more abbrassion resistant than braid (generally) and easi...

Re: How to catch carp fish using lures/other baits
Generally carp are caught by bottom fishing. Specifically using a bolt rig (which you can google or youtube). Basically its a hook on a 6-12 inch leader with a sliding weight above a swivvel usually 1-3 oz no roll lead depending on water conditions (you can also use a three way swivel with a 6-8 inc...

On the Ottawa they do not seem to be concentrated anywhere from what I can see I have see/heard of them being caught from arnprior to rockland but more occasional than regular. The nation river has a larger concentration of them. They can be caught on anything but worm on the bottom seems to be the ...

Re: Channal Cats on Rideau
We have this disucssion before. The concensus was that there were some people (capable of proper identification) on the board who clearly caught channel catfish on the Rideau. That being said there does nto seem to be a thriving population on the Rideau. They still remain a relatively rare occurance.
