You might want to make sure the bait is tuned properly. I've found that when they get banged up a bit and run sideways instead of straight up and down, the bite drops off.

Those Golden Eagles were most likely immature Bald Eagles. The young don't get the white head feathers until they reach maturity and are often mistaken for Golden Eagles.

Good article and it's just the opposite of what I had thought. Might be a little tough using crank-baits in a heavily weedy area like where I'll be fishing, but I'll give it a try. Thanks Todd
