While jigging for Salmon with my dad on the west coast, I thought I had caught an underwater cable on the bottom when the line fetched up tight. After a minute or so of straining my bacon trying to budge the jig, I was getting ready to cut the line when my reels drag started to scream. Now I figured...

You might want to make sure the bait is tuned properly. I've found that when they get banged up a bit and run sideways instead of straight up and down, the bite drops off.

Those Golden Eagles were most likely immature Bald Eagles. The young don't get the white head feathers until they reach maturity and are often mistaken for Golden Eagles.

Cabellas Canada

Going out to Winnipeg for a few days and booked a hotel just up the street from the Cabellas store. I think I'm setting myself up for some disappointment. If the store is anything like their on-line version, there won't be anything on the shelves. Anyone else have difficulty ordering from the Canada...

MuskyMatt, Wanted to thank you for the suggestion to unhook the antenna for 1/2 an hour. After trying several other options (soft and hard reset, cleaning all the connections, ensuring I had a "full" charge on the battery) nothing seemed to work. I remembered your suggestion to unhook the ...

The GPS does not show "Module not responding". It does show that message when I disconnect the antenna, but the message disappears when I reconnect. I'll try Matt's suggestion to disconnect the antenna for a half-hour or so, but I'm not going to hold my breath that it will work. After some...

Lowrance LMS 525C-DF problem

Could really use some help solving a problem with my Lowrance. A couple of weeks ago I left the console power button "on" for a week which drained my battery. I recharged the battery, but now I can't get the GPS to lock-on to any satellites. The GPS worked fine before the power drain. I've...

A lot of sage advice for sure. Thanks guys. I'm still leaning heavily towards top water though. With a full moon and clear sky, it will be a very bright night and I'm certain the bass won't mind busting the surface as they should be able to see the baits quite well. Cheers

Good article and it's just the opposite of what I had thought. Might be a little tough using crank-baits in a heavily weedy area like where I'll be fishing, but I'll give it a try. Thanks Todd

Night Fishing

Looks like tonight might be a great night for some night fishing. Full moon, clear skies. Anyone got some tips for chasing largies after dark? I'm thinking top water might be the best option (buzz baits, frogs) but what other techniques are there that are well suited for night time bassin?

Console Covers - someone to make

Hi folks, Anyone know of someone who could design and make covers for the consoles of my dual console lund? She sits at a dock all summer and the rain is starting to play h$%% with the instruments. I don't want a full cover for the boat as I'm not really concerned too much with how much water she ta...

I can live with his brash manner and opinionated approach. The only thing I mind is that after years of watching the show, I don't believe I have ever learned anything from it that actually relates to fishing, other than "No winches or telephone poles when in the north..." Probably won't s...
