Ohhhhh I thought he was talkin about Long Island locks...

Yeah I'd love to hook up sometime to try and hook up a big ol... well anything really *laughs*

But I gotta get a bit better prepared for the big boys... I suspect that 8 pound monofilament won't exactly hold up to the muskies *laughs*

Yep, I can just see the reaction from my wife when I bring home 25 new rods and reels... uh huh. *laughs* But I think I will get at least a second one, as in my earlier threads I have an Ugly Stick and a Shimano SIdestab 4000 right now, maybe I'll get something a little stiffer and a baitcast reel (...

I also noticed that Seaweed mentioned some luck with Muskie around that area, don't know if he was in a boat or not though...cause the thread was about shore-fishing...

They were pretty small for carp, to me (although I can't say I'm a trained eye) they looked like bass, or possibly perch... Hard to say though... The biggest one I saw out of the water was probaby 10-12 inches long...slight gold colour on the belly which is what made me think of bass... Has anyone t...

Ah ok great...

I was thinking about picking up a second rig, considering I don't know what to use and when, it would be easier to switch things around a bit *laughs*

Cheers

Quick silly question

I am no where near my Ontario Fishing reg's guide so I have a quick question. I thought I read somewhere in there that you can't fish with more than one rod and reel combo... does that mean you can't fish them simultaneously, or that you can't bring em out.. Or, as is most likely, am I dreaming thin...

Petrie Island Recap - and Sunday frustration

G'day folks, Petrie Island Recap So, yesterday my father (51) my little brother (9) and I (32) rented a boat at the Petrie Island Bait and Tackle shop. I couldn't figure out who was more excited, me or my brother *laughs*. He was dancing around and couldn't wait to get out there fishing on a boat fo...

Well it sure hasn't caught me any fish yet *laughs* I played hookey today, and (between spats of rain) went to find myself a little fishin hole that I could access from shore, as I don't own a boat. Came across a really nice little place on the Rideau. It's right near some locks, and called "so...

Newb question about rods

I know that at some point I'm going to have to get myself a second rod and reel etc etc...but for now, I was wondering what the overall opinion is of the rod that I did buy... Not knowing much about gear, I picked a name I remember my Dad always liked, so I bought an Ugly Stick.... What do you guys ...

Where is it exactly? Yep, I'm in Ottawa, south end around Leitrim...

I may not be able to make it tonight, but it will be good to know where it is for future excursions!

Well, actually I do have a question.

Tubes seem to be really popular with a lot of the gang here, and, having never used one, I'm curious about how to "hook" them up...

*groan*

Is it similar to the rigging a weedless worm?

Just a newbie sayin Hi!

 Just wanted to say Hi to everyone as I just decided to join the board. My first impressions here is that you guys seem to be a great family! I'm just starting out this year fishing, and am looking forward to learning a lot, and I have already learned a ton from lurking around on this board...
