FRS are free to use....we use tnem with the kids when we go camping...I've seen people use them in malls... Problem is.....their range is VERY limited and you'll end up giving up on them for trying to communicate further than eyesight..... VHF is the way to go.....if you can get around having to in...

A big positive about those little guys...
The perch, walleye and other game fish ar getting fat on them.. also hear the comarants are eating them up too!
Gotta love mother natures way of taking care of the fisherman.
