There are few areas on the Madawaska river that are closed until this weekend to protect the walleye. If the bass population was a concern in the Mississippi, I would expect they would turn the bird sanctuary into a fish sanctuary as well. If I understand correctly the bass population is doing extre...

Those sure are some big walleye. Welcome Rodger any information for some one like you is greatly appreciated, how can we possibly argue with those pics.

P.S. I now know what your avatar is. I was having a problem with that one.

This seams to be an open debit. Personally I tie directly on the power pro. I did use a 6 foot vanish leader up until last summer. If the walleye bite is slow again next week , I will more than likely go back to trying the leader. At least when using the leader you get the best of both worlds.

It was a tough day today everywhere from what I hear. Kingman and I fished an area we know quite well and it only produced 2 walleye and 4 pike for us. One thing I did notice is that the water temperature is actually as much as 5 degrees cooler than it was last weekend and I’m not talking surface ...

No camp ground that I’m aware of and I fish it regularly. I’m not sure of the quantity of pike but it’s full of walleye and musky.

I personally think the season and stocking is more set up for tourism than any other. I have never had a problem finding or catching trout here. Especially in lake Ontario. In July and August it quite easy to catch 10 in a morning and with a limit of 2 i would say it is a forced sport fish.

Well I know Kingman and I had a rough morning. Only 2 walleye and 4 pike. I personally thing it has more to do with the 5 degree drop in the water temp where we were compared to last Saturday then the wind.

I do a lot of jigging for walleye in the spring and fall. While jigging I normally hook a few musky. I can only assume the ones that have broken my line are these Musky and it’s their teeth. Musky or no musky nothing burns me more than breaking ( cutting) my line on what could be an awesome fish.

I use to use a Vanish leader, last year I found it didn’t seam to matter if I used it on not, and I lost several big fish due to it, Now I just tie straight on.

I went back tonight and only caught three so the weather has either quieted them or they have moved out. I did look around in deeper water.
