Need a favor

Hey Gang, Monday, I'm taking a couple of kids fishing and teaching them how to fish their lake (hopefully). Otter Lake is in Quebec north of Shawville. Unfortunately I do not have a digital chart for the lake and my research suggests that Otter Lake north of Shawville might be on the "trakmap&q...

Re: Fluorocarbon and Fluorocarbon leader material??

Tensile strength (normalized per diameter) and abrasion resistance or the the two principal differences between FC main line and the FC leader material. Per diameter, FC leader is significantly stronger. In recognition of the cost differential, perhaps you could use FC leader in the small diameters...

Re: Dropshot rod advice

Tune in to RBR Saturday morning. I'll ask my guest Cory Johnston the question for you. He's caught a couple of drop-shot fish in his career.

Re: Lowrance HDS-5 and HDS-5x

My recommendation would be to either sell your units and purchase G2`s or just purchase an additional Navionics card.

Re: Lowrance HDS-5 and HDS-5x

Unfortunately in order to map share, all of the units need to be G2 or newer.

Re: Lowrance HDS-5 and HDS-5x

The roughly $150 Canadian ended being more like $200 Canadian before tax. Since I need to purchase a navionics card and let's say I get a new one since finding a used one seems difficult, what are the chances of picking up an HDS-5 gen 2 with navioncs, moving the HDS-5 gen 1 to the bow and ...

Re: Lowrance HDS-5 and HDS-5x

The beauty of the HDS platform and the networking architecture allows you to share the information as suggested between these older units. To accomplish what you would like to do, you will need to set up an nmea 2000 network (not proprietary) between these 2 units. Once accomplished you will be able...

Re: Roller vs Bunk trailer

The key question is hull material? Aluminium or glass? Generally speaking roller bunks should be used on glass hulls exclusively. Rollers can and will dent aluminium hulls.

Re: ORWL MEETING MONDAY APRIL 13th

Just a quick note to the ORWL to say thank-you for the opportunity. Great group of committed walleye anglers looking at developing their skills and having a great time. Re: ORWL MEETING MONDAY APRIL 13th

Hey Gang, "In Pursuit of Sonar Perfection" Hopefully by the end of tonight's meeting you'll have a better understanding of "Chirp" sonar technology, personal cartography, and if we have time we'll talk about bullet-proof sonar installations. I'll be bringing the latest updates fo...

Trusted sources say it's the bomb. I have 2 on order from Fishntec. There was a similar products years ago called the grass shark which worked well so I'm certain this new product will be great.

Re: Marine Survey for Insurance

Give Heather Bonadie at Rhodes and Williams a call. She is by far the most knowledgeable agent that I have met in the industry. But don't take my word for it, you'll quickly realize that she has tremendous experience and will find the most economical solution for your specific needs. Cost nothing to...

Re: Any one ever changed float rod tip top to a fly loop

Changing a tip-top is relatively straightforward. In the interests of a timely completion, I am deferring to Youtube to provide the instruction if you wish to "tackle" this on your own. Both Bennetts in Smiths Falls and Paddletales in Winchester can change the tip-top for you. All of that ...
