Re: Trout Fishing in Ottawa/Gatineau?

If you did a quick search on here lots of valueable info would come up on the subject. You can also check out the Fish-Online webpage that will give you info/maps of most lakes. The calabogie area is a good start.

Re: Fur 2015

That's a photo you can be very proud of Markus, love reading your reports congrats on another great season!!!! I hear you on the reason you trap, probably the same reason I hunt and fish, just to be out in the bush, if I get an animal or fish when I'm out it's just gravy on the taters, it's all about...

Re: 12' bow VS 10' Jon Boat

My 10ft Jon boat is 36" wide, very stable I've never had an issue steering it in winds or choppy water. If you fish smaller lakes it seems like a no brainer to me, the Jon boat sounds ideal for what you want.....

Re: 12' bow VS 10' Jon Boat

I have no issue at all fishing any of the lakes in the lanark highlands with my 10ft Jon boat and 3hp honda, been doing it for years. I got rid of my 12ft tinner in favour of the simplicity and weight of my Jon boat. Can toss it up on top of my 4runner solo or in the back of my truck easily, also tr...

Re: Early spring shore fishing - Jock River / Ottawa South

Most of the jock up my way is still froze over. To my knowledge there are no crappie in the jock, I have never caught one myself anyways...... pickerel, pike, bass, Muskie, barbot, all the usual species....Rideau, Mississippi lake both hold crappie in good numbers

Re: Motor shuts off underload

My little Honda outboard has an identical issue, it will idle all day long, in a barell it will throttle up without issues but as soon as load is put on it starts to stutter and bog. Chased the issue last summer, buddy of mine replaced and serviced fuel system still does it. I hope you figure it out...

Re: Algonquin fishing

Think there planning on shore fishing Smitty, none of those lakes will be productive from shore at all,a boat is needed if you want to catch, I fish most of them year round. You would be better looking for some creeks up near south algonquin/Barry's bay etc..... At least you can walk up and down the...

He verifies your Pal is legit, you give him money and take said firearms. I've purchased many used firearms, both online and local never had an issue.

Re: Palmerston Lake

Palmerston has been closed for a number of years now. Have friends on canonto and fished redhorse many times, both decent for pike/walleye if you know where to fish.

Re: What will this weather do to the ice?

Still getting cold enough temps at night where it won't effect much. It is a late ice season this winter so no matter where your fishing caution and ice safety are always recommended, if your unsure of an area dont risk it!
