Re: Old fishing line

Tie an overhand knot in it and pull on the two ends. If the knot breaks easier than expected, get rid of the line. As line deteriorates, it becomes brittle. and loses its knot strength. On a straight pull it's fine, but against a knot it breaks if it's no good.

Re: Livewell size

I seldom use recirc unless I'm running. I prefer to keep bringing in fresh water. I have a timer that I believe runs 2 minutes on, 1 minute off. 16 gallons should be ok. I have trouble finding 20 lbs too.

How old is the gas in it. If it's not fresh replace with a new mixture.

Re: This is Why I Fish the Bay of Quinte!!!

Wally: Fish won't show up on your screen looking like a fish, but more like a white blob. Larger fish will appear a bit more elongated, but not like the returns we see with the Mega Live or Livescope transducers. Your transducer may be a touch low as well. It should be flush or a hair above your hul...

As I've said in earlier posts, I've made more friends, been to more places, and fished with many people that I never would ...

If you are using a ball head, ensure that it has a good hook. A lot of the manufacturers use a cheap hook. Pike will straighten them out and break your heart.

Re: How are you dealing with the Stay-At-Home-Order?

Going to the store daily for a few hours. Other than that pretty much staying at home. I've discovered that doing curbside orders takes a lot out of you, so too pooped to go anywhere anyway.
