Joco is right they do use TFT tech and not LCD . I personally have used them at below -20 F and absolutely no slow down or issues occurred due to the cold . Lots of rumours being spread that they suffer from freezeup but its just not true and those saying it don't know this unit first hand . It's no...

It is interesting to see the Vexilar next to any LCD, but even more interesting to see the much loved Vexilar next to the Mar...

I've used the Vexilars, the x67c icemachine and the Marcum Lx-3 and will get a shot with the LX-5 soon . The Lowrance x67c has no issues with the cold like Lcds did . I did my own comparisons with all three on ice and went with the Marcums and stand by that but if I only had the x67c or the vex fl-18...

Well I never worry because I'm always the one carrying the axe as those who have fished with me can attest to . Well that's those who made sure to bring plenty of grub to feed me . Those who didn't, well they've been recycled . A trapper never leaves home without his axe . A very interesting new species for me to catch and not one I have any experience with as they are not a species that is prevalent or here . I did find a lake that holds them reasonably close to me and we nailed some ni...

Big bait for big pike and dead bait doesn't concern them and if anything they prefer it often . . I also jig for th...
