My Shimano reels take some heavy abuse and have NEVER had a single problem. Shimano all the way! Nobody is saying Shimano is bad because they do make some really good gear but to make a reel out to be the greatest reel every made in its class and all you've done is hold one in the store is misleadi...

How do you guys hold your rods that it really makes that much of a difference?
When fishing are you holding the cork or eva when reeling or are you more holding the reel??

I do prefer cork if I had to choose either or but really it's not a deciding factor for me.
