I agree with Smitty. I don't know much about PQ fishing. Your best bet is to check regs, and or inquire at a local bait shop if they are open in these times.

Re: Covid Restrictions
How in &^%$ can they police such a ridiculous so called law? What if you travel to your shack at 10pm and fish until 4am. When they approach a shack and ask "What time did you start fishing?" "Ohh 10 minutes ago" What if you live alone, and you go overnight to your shack, wit...

Re: Cormorant Cull
I'll side with RJ on this one. Yes, do I hate the bird? For sure. Do I feel it has compromised any of the water bodies I fish? I cannot say with any solid proof. I follow the "Tourney Syndicate" Like a book worm. The "Larry" "St. Franny" what ever part of "That&quo...

Re: Bullhead fishing
You are certainly on the mark for "Greens Cr" I've never tried Billberry, but have done well with warm ups in years past at Greens. Also, just passed Petrie, there is a culvert right off the 174 we used to do well on to avoid Petrie. I have not done it in years, but really any creek mouth ...

Re: Any Lodging recommendations
My first question to you would be what types of fish you guys would be chasing? Are you looking for a lodge setting, or a hotel? I can offer a suggestion if you would be looking for a hotel. Mind you it's roughly 1.5 hours from downtown Ottawa, in a small town called Westport On. There is a large pa...

Re: Suckers?
Yes TonyB Sorry I meant to mention we were fishing The Carp R. We waited for a warm up, though even in colder temps with high water we did find em. The cats and Drum were in warmer temps, but the suckers were a plenty. That being said, we also mainly did an afternoon fish.
Best of luck!!!

Re: Suckers?
For sure TonyB! We would walk the bank and get as close as we could to the mouth. Years ago on the West side there was a picnic table we would set up on. 3 of us used to go, and we would drift also with out float rods. Though, mostly when current was strong we would bottom bounce with the egg sinker...

Re: Suckers?
Years ago we used to do really well in Fitzroy. Close to the mouth where it dumps into The Ottawa. All we did was a big dew worm and an egg sinker. Heavier the better, and be careful, for the current can be quite strong after the thaw. We got the odd Drum, and channel cat as well. Hope this helps! F.F

Re: kayak launching
I have a little aluminum car topper, I now leave it at the cottage, but when I first bought it 6 years ago, I'd put it in the Rideau right in the city all the time. I had it on The Jock as well. I never had anyone bother me, and your putting in a Kayak. If you dragged across a beach or something wit...

Re: Jigs - line options
Also as per re-spooling a few reels over the season, I did not last year, but heading to Ed's is a great way to save by having him or his staff spool your reels for you. It's a time and money saver, and your not left with a 1/4 spool of line. And not to knock any Flourocarbon lines out there, in the...
