Re: Jock River
Agreed with the above comments. You can also catch muskie in there and have caught quite a few walleye as well. The stretches between Barrhaven and Richmond are good. You can launch a small boat across from the Richmond nursery and go towards Barrhaven for quite a while. Have fun!

Re: Tougher fishing this year?
I have had some stellar trips this year and one tough one. The weather has definitely pushed fish behaviour back a month if not more. Try some areas that typically you would reserve for earlier in the season...or shallower than normal in lakes. I find rivers to be more predictable and status quo. So...

Re: Too tired
xped - yep that's been me for the last 20 years. Now when I plan an outing it is for the entire day...6am (sometimes later in the morning based on location) until 10pm...then it seems I get my "fix" in. Being tired is one thing and then there is the guilt (driven by myself only) that I sho...

Good point on the line RJ - I usually use braid but have to rethink that especially considering how clear the water is.

Re: Advice - Fishing fast current on the St. Lawrence
Great advice guys.
Based on your feedback I would say not enough weight and I was not vertical enough. I did have limited success with a pumpkin/orange belly tube but nothing worthy of a pic.
Will try again on a day where mother nature tones it down a bit.

Advice - Fishing fast current on the St. Lawrence
Hi all, Was fishing the section between Cardinal and the International Bridge (Ogedensburg ) yesterday. Probably not the best day as the wind was 35km + gusts. Needless to say with the wind and current it was a battle. Regardless of the wind the current is very strong as most of you know. My questio...

Re: Kapuskasing bound!
If you can find someone to take you up the Kapuskasing River where it meets the Groundhog and Mattagami Rivers you will not be disappointed. The river system is vast and as wide as the Ottawa is at its widest in places. Takes an experienced hand to navigate depending on water levels. I've had some p...
